All black everything...

Reactions:
I was totally inspired by Carly Cristman today, in one way or another. I love how she always looks so comfortable but always wears at least one thing that looks so glam! I love her humor too, she is really awesome to watch on You Tube. Basically the style is a chic black look, then I added the knee highs because I've been dying to wear them (I just got these in mail= haul soon) and the designer inspired printed scarf to top it all off! I also like how the vest is a little oversized so it looks more like a dress, just perfect with leggings!

Trend: Chunky Knit Sweater

Reactions:
This is one of my absolute favorite sweaters, I bought it two years ago an I got it for a great deal. I last wore it here.
Chunky sweaters are great for this weather because it won't overheat you, but still keep you warm in this stage of fall, especially in New England.  I also had to wear these leg warmers because they just came in the mail. I wasn't really sure what to wear them with, I think the boots matched okay, much better than any other boots I had.

Combo

Reactions:
My last outfit post I was also wearing this fur vest and in this post I was wearing this plaid shirt. I combined them for this "dressed up" weekend look. This was just cozy and still appropriate for running errands and hanging out, which is the goal of most weekend looks.

Fauxy

Reactions:
I've been dying to wear this fur vest since it started to get cold. Everyone was asking me if it was real. No it's not real, but that is what I like about it the most, it looks real. I layered some gold-tone necklaces on top, I love the deep purple stone, it gives the look a little more luxury. Of course, my ripped jeans brings it all back to the college level of casual.

The 90's.

Reactions:
I really wanted to wear this plaid shirt and got inspired by this picture (third from the bottom). I like that this look is 90's grunge in a way but updated with the peep toe booties and skinnies.  I also added the neon yellow watch to bring out the yellow stripe in the shirt. I really liked but I don't think people at my college understood it. It was also hilarious to walk in to the academic athletic building in heels, I've never gotten so many stares in my life! Everyone was in sweats and sneakers, not me. I can't imagine going back to that stage, I don't even want to admit I ever dressed like that!

Three Little Outfits

Reactions:
Hello Friends, I've gathered some new things to create these three fall outfits. The first is more of a cozy outfit, I wore this to my friends house and out shopping at an outdoor mall. The middle outfit I wore last weekend to hang out and eat dinner. I wore the third outfit to school the day I gave a speech.

I love showcasing a necklace with a scarf, especially a big one like this. I also like to mix long necklaces with scarves by twisting them together, it can give your outfit a really unique look.
This is the first time I have worn these boots. I was a little stumped on what to wear them with, but I think they look great with just the very neutral and same navy color, any other suggestions for them?
This dress was also a little out of my comfort zone, but I fell in love with the print and beaded embellishment. That is also why I kept the jewelry very minimal with this look, I wanted to showcase the dress and not detract from the pretty detail.

I've been getting the best deals and finding things I actually have been looking for!! Just about everything you could ask for in a shopping trip!

Kohl's
I actually saw a necklace just like this one at Old Navy but it was $10 and I had just bought a ton of necklaces (see below) so I passed it up. A few days later I found this one at Kohl's!
Photobucket
3 Antiqued Bracelets $14.00 on sale for $5.60
Candies Looking Glass Necklace $20.00 on sale for $8.00
*Plus I had a $10 certificate for opening a Kohl's charge*
Total Spent $2.28
Total Saved 22.44
H&M
I almost didn't go in H&M but something told me to. I ended up scoring a pair of knee highs. I have been wanting to try this knee high/ boot trend and couldn't find any appropriate ones, even in Forever 21!! These are perfect!!

Photobucket
2 Pack knee highs $9.95 on sale for $3.00
Total Spent $3.00
Total Saved $6.95
JC Penney
I wasn't looking for anything in particular here, but ended up getting some gems! The cougar earrings are amazing! Personal tip whenever you find well detailed animal jewelry for under $30 buy it if you love it! I've seen elephant rings with rhinestones for $50 to $80, and that is a lower price. Animal jewelry can get really expensive!

Cougar Earrings $12.00 on sale for $4.80

Decree Slouchy Cardigan $30.00 on sale for $5.97

*I had a gift card for $25.00*

Old Navy
There isn't an Old Navy close to me anymore, well when I say close I mean it used to be in the mall that I live 5 minutes away from!  I got a chance to go to one when I visited my sister at the beginning of the month, and this one is in a fancier area and the best one I have ever shopped in! It was amazing, there was tons of jewelry and the clothing was way cuter then I remember, I just couldn't believe it, it kinda reminded me of a boutique not a mass clothing store. The best part was the fitting rooms, there are cute sayings above the hooks that said "Love it!" and "Leave it!"

3-D Owl Shirt $24.94 on sale for $7.24

This one is the most exciting because I also went in to this store on a whim looking for some thin gold necklaces. I hit the jackpot. They were having a huge jewelry sale necklaces, earring sets, rings, bracelets all $2.99, $1.99 or $.99!
I ended up getting 8 necklaces and 7 bracelet sets. Each necklace was $1.99 and each bracelet set was $.99, in total I got 15 pieces of jewelry for $24.28, That is amazing!! I didn't end up getting any rings because they were all too small and I just didn't even look at the earrings, although I should have.  Unfortunately I already threw out all the tags with the original prices so I can't tell you just how good of a deal I got but I know at least two were $12.00 or more each!! So the $24.28 was totally worth it! Some were the CR Luxe and some were 2 for 8 pieces I stuck with big statement necklaces that I knew would pay off and left the single charm necklaces behind.

Some of my loot from Charlotte Russe
Total Spent $24.28
Total Saved $?? (Over $24.28)

Target
Photo speaks for itself. I didn't even think my Target got the line, I guess I should have asked. In the back of my mind I knew I would probably splurge on a $60 sweater I didn't need. I popped in a few days after the event and there was only a few things left. I think I would have wanted a hat anyways, very understated and pretty.

Missoni for Target Beanie $16.99
Last Stop: TJ Maxx
I love finding stuff I lust over on clearance, I decided that I was going to have to uy one of these blazers. That it was worth the $16.99 and to just buy it already. Good thing I waited! I went in to work early to look for them and they were gone, I check clearance and there they were! Marked down to $12.00, naturally I bought the black and gray. I also found this dress that I had never seen before for $5.00!

The Wise Owl

Reactions:
I never posted about my amazing finds at Old Navy, I will post a haul soon with some goodies I've been stocking up!
Old Navy moved out of my mall, so I haven't been for a while, but I loved it. The new one I went to was totally redesigned it had cute fitting rooms, tons of jewelry and super detailed shirts like I've never seen before at the one I went to.  Particularly the shirt I'm wearing now here is an owl, but the feathers and eyes are cut out of a silky material. I also bought one that had a purse design on it and there were actual metal studs on the shirt.
Photobucket
Top: Old Navy
Cardigan: Old Navy
Jeans: Bob's / Dollhouse
 Shoes: TJ Maxx $5
Necklace: Charlotte Russe $1.99

For this outfit I wanted it to be little preppy but still have some of my own style as well.  I mixed it up with a sleeveless cardigan.  I also scrunched my skinnies up and threw on there oxford-like wedges. I added a delicate necklace to keep the focus on the owl and tie in all of the colors.

The Boyfriend Blazer

Reactions:
Seriously, this blazer is the blazer of my dreams. Naturally I bought two, one in black and one in gray. I was even willing to buy it full price but lucky for me they were marked down.  It is this really nice material with a sheen to it, there is one button and two oversize pockets.  I initially wanted to layer a bright color under it but then decided to go with this nude tank.  For some color I placed this faux turquoise and gold necklace around my neck. The shoes were the hardest part because of the gold in the necklace.  I decided on black flats with some colorless gems. Lastly, I stuck a cheetah print bow headband on to incorporate the black and brown-gold tones in my outfit.

Top: TJ Maxx $2
Jeans: Macy's / Levi's $9.99

And of course my solution to hemming anything is to cuff it! Cuffed up skinnies and the sleeves on my blazer!

Color Pop!

Reactions:
This day was particularly great because I received recognition for five years of working at TJ Maxx. I attended a luncheon with other employees, and their managers from other stores.  We had a fabulous lunch and everyone got gorgeous flowers.  I had a really nice time and enjoyed the day off from school!

Photobucket
Top: TJ Maxx $3
Skirt: JC Penney / B-Wear $11.99
Shoes: JC Penney/ Olsenboye $4.22
Tights: JC Penney $0.48
Necklace: Charlotte Russe $1.99

I paired this silky brown button up with a scrunched pencil skirt. Pretty neutral. To add color I wore these purple suede kitten heels and a teal colored necklace.  You can't really see but I am also wearing a pair of nude fishnets which I think were just a little different.

Something New #22

Reactions:
I absolutely adore this green sweater, It is so girly and comfortable!  It's frilly and has the perfect puffy sleeves, I went for a statement necklace to keep with the girly theme. As always, these jeans are extremely long on me, but I love the look of cuffed skinnies, it's pretty much the only way I wear them. To top it off I added this simple back wedge to balance out all the frills up top.

On Display

Reactions:
Tell me: is it ridiculous that when I come home from shopping I need to rearrange my room?  Well I guess I didn't have to but for the past few months I have tried to make my room in to more of a dressing room to 'shop' in. Kinda like my own little boutique. I'm sure you're aware that I'm in college, I have a part-time job and a pretty bad shopping habit. As much as I would love to buy jewelry furniture and organizers I just can't justify spending the money on it. Plus I have no idea what I will be doing in May when I graduate(!), so I'm not going to pimp my room out just to have it change. I also love repurposing things, so naturally down to the basement I went to hunt. I am currently using a book case next to my full length mirror for a makeup counter, a VHS rack for a shoe rack and an TV/ entertainment display for jewelry and decoration.  Time to get creative!
I found a set of DVD display shelves, I think you can find them at Wal-Mart, Target, Ikea...  and I thought it would make the perfect display! Since we had two I double up the shelves on one of them because it would be the same amount of shelf space.

What I did to hang them in the shelving was really simple, I just pushed some push pins the the back and it took up some of that white space!

How to hang your bracelets:

Next: Because I moved all of my bracelets (looked like this before) I had to change all of that up!

I put out my rings instead, which I usually keep in a plastic organizer.

And lastly I pinned up a few of my necklaces:
Photobucket
This could be much prettier with a piece of tulle behind it or something but this was all the effort I could put in today!

Hope you like it! Get inspired and start changing it up!
